Did your LG TV stop working and go completely dead—no lights, no sound, no picture? In this guide, a user shares their step-by-step experience trying to bring their lifeless LCD TV back to life. With a bit of patience, some tools, and the usual DIY care, it might be possible to fix it instead of tossing it out too soon.

Appliance:
LG42 LH3000 LCD TV

Issue:
The TV shows no signs of life.

Repair:
After taking some measurements, I discovered a blown fuse rated at 1.5 Amps, 250V. I replaced it, thinking I had quickly solved the problem—but unfortunately, that wasn't the case, as the TV burned the new fuse as soon as I powered it on.
Further investigation revealed the problem was with the 5N50FT MOSFETs (refer to the second photo). I replaced all four of them, and the TV started working again.
I was lucky this time, as the STR W6252 integrated circuit (refer to the third photo) usually gets damaged as well.
