Is your Zerowatt washing machine drum spinning slowly, even during the spin cycle? In this hands-on guide, a forum user explains step by step how they tackled the issue. If you're into DIY and want to try fixing it yourself, this article gives you a good place to start—just grab a few basic tools and some patience!
Appliance:
Zerowatt HNS6755 Washing Machine
Issue:
During the spin cycle, the drum struggled to rotate, occasionally coming to a halt before resuming operation. At times, the door also remained locked.
Repair:
After carrying out various checks, I determined that the issue was with the tachometer. Once the tachometer was replaced, the washing machine started working again.
Visually, there was no obvious damage, but I realised it was the tachometer because, in many models, a broken tachometer prevents the door from unlocking—another symptom this washing machine occasionally exhibited.
Upon measuring the tachometer's resistance, I found it should typically range between 200 and 300 Ohms, but this one was showing completely erratic readings.
