Did your INNOHIT LCD TV suddenly shut off and start smoking? In this article, a user shares their real-life experience dealing with a television that went up in smoke—literally. If you’re facing a similar issue or just curious about what might cause such a failure (and how to try fixing it), this guide is for you. You’ll need a few tools, a careful hand, and the usual DIY spirit!
Appliance:
Innohit Translation IH3210 LCD TV
Issue:
The TV turned off with a bang and smoke coming from behind the panel.
Repair: Upon opening the TV, I immediately noticed a charred area with two completely blown 12nF 400V capacitors. I replaced them with 12nF 630V capacitors and, for safety, also replaced the two SND13N50F transistors. The TV started working again.
This type of fault is very common in this model, although I still haven't figured out why that part of the TV gets so hot.
